ITALIAN OFFICES IN CHINA
Lot. 1413 - 1917 - Beijing: Leoni, 5c green and 10c red with proof overprint “PECHINO” locally hand made with a stamp generally used on registered mail labels, on two letter fragments from “R.R. POSTE ITALIANE * PECHINO - CINA *” respectively on 21-8 and 23-8 1917. Very rare set, not quoted by Sassone Catalogue at the used state.
Lot. 1416 - 1917 - Tientsin: Leoni, 5c green and 10c red with proof overprint “TIENTSIN” locally hand made with a stamp generally used on registered mail labels, on two fragments of letter from “R.R. POSTE ITALIANE * TIENTSIN - CINA *” both of August 1917. A very rare set, the 5c with straight overprint is not listed by Sassone Catalogue. Both extremely rare, they are proposed individually at a starting price of € 5.000 each.
FRANCE
Lot. 3006 - 1850 - 20c black on yellow, Tête-Bêche pair, mint, never hinged. Yvert values it over € 13.000, it is on sale starting from € 3.000
KINGDOM OF ITALY
Lot. 1043 - 1866 - 40c carmine pink and 60c dark lilac from “TORINO UFF.SUCCURSALE N.1 21 DEC 69” to Hong-Kong, via Brindisi and “ALEXANDRIA JA 1 70”, then forwarded to Saigon, Cocincine. First port rate letters to China and Cocincine, it was addressed to a sailor of the corvette Principessa Maria Clotilde, at that time sailing in the China Sea. Very rare and splendid, the only one known both to Hong-Kong and to Saigon, prior to the establishment of the UPU. Sold at a starting price: € 2.800
FRENCH OCCUPATION IN FEZZAN
Lot. 1552 - 1943 - 1930 Italian air mail stamp (Sassone 11) hand overprinted, mint never hinged. Only a few specimens known. Sassone valutaion is € 67.500, this copy will be auctioned starting from € 10.000
VATICANO
Lot. 2066 - 1934 - Provisional issue, 1,30 on 1,25L light blue, essay sold as normal by the Vatican Mail, used. Very rare. Sassone evaluates it € 24.000, starting price will be € 3.000
